The executives I coach build products that reach hundreds of millions (or billions) of users and lead teams that span the globe. Yet when I ask who in their life knows they're running on fumes, their answer is usually a very short list of close friends and family members, and sometimes, that list is nonexistent. They feel like their boss doesn't have the time, their peers might judge them, and confiding in direct reports feels off-limits. So they stay silent, sometimes for years (or even decades). Over time, they come to learn that silence carries a real cost for their health, their relationships, their families, and their careers. I wrote about all of this in my recent CIO.com article, including: 🪫 Why tech leaders hide burnout more than most 🪫 What the hiding actually costs 🪫 The reframe I use with clients who believe asking for help means something is wrong with them If you've been carrying more than the people around you realize, this one was written just for you. Even if you're doing fine, I imagine you probably lead someone who isn't feeling so great, and this article will help you support them. 👉🏼 Read my CIO.com article on the leadership burnout no one talks about. Wishing you a fabulous, well-rested week! ~ Kyle | CaffeinatedKyle.com P.S. Foundry's State of the CIO research found that nearly half of IT leaders report feeling some level of burnout. If your organization is ready to talk about the topic before burnout becomes a crisis, I deliver keynotes and highly engaging workshops on burnout, boundaries, and workplace culture.
